This project is a process and impact evaluation of the South Dakota Comprehensive Cancer Prevention and Control Plan (CCPCP). The purposes of this project are: (a) to strengthen the evaluation competency of the CCPCP stakeholder group, (b) to plan for evaluation of the six priority components of CCPCP, and (c) to track evaluation indicators for the six priority components of the CCPCP, and (d) to report on the one year markers and milestones of CCPCP.

The project will involve stakeholder evaluation training, formulation of an evaluation rubric for the CCPCP, tracking of evaluation indicators using a variety of data collection mechanisms (e.g., reports, public data sources, interviews, and services) and ongoing communication with stakeholders on the CCPCP implementation and evaluation process. A formal annual report will be submitted to the SD Department of Health. The evaluation report will be used to track indicators of progress in implementing the SD CCPCP and to suggest implementation and evaluation plans beyond one year.
