Summer Workshop at SDSU

2009


  We are looking forward to having you on our campus for the AstroMath summer workshop!  Below you will find information about the workshop.  This website may be updated over the course of the next several weeks.  Please check back periodically.  

 

Application

  The AstroMath workshop is open to South Dakota math and physical science teachers.  Priority will be given to 8-12 math-physical science teacher partners from a school and to teachers from small schools who teach both 8-12 mathematics and physical science.  All 8-12 mathematics and physical science teachers are encouraged to apply.  Online registration is closed but you can contact Judy.Vondruska@sdstate.edu to check on availability of workshop space.  

AstroMath '08

Housing and Food

  For those of you staying on campus during the week, housing and meals are provided at no cost to you.  For those commuting each day, we assume you will only need lunch provided. If  you would like additional meals, please let us know ASAP.

  This is a tentative agenda for the workshop which will focus on five different mathematical topics - visualization, triangles/angular measure, conic sections, algebra/graphing, and volumes and surface areas.  

AstroMath '06

Cost

There is no cost to participants for attending this workshop.  Meals, housing, snacks, and curriculum materials are provided.

Workshop Credit
(2 hours)

Graduate credit will be offered at the reduced rate (pending approval) of approximately $62 per credit hour.  An additional one hour of graduate credit is available in a follow-up session.  (Please note:  You do NOT have to fill out the  Application of Eligibility and Application for Reduced Tuition forms.)
